There is a statue of Lin Mo-niang (Mazu) in the National Anping Harbor Historic Park. The sixteen-meter tall statue with a four-meter base and mazu-themed park adds another view to Anping harbor.
Shi Wen-long, founder of Chi Mei Corporation, donated this statue hoping that Mazu can guide the ships at sea, just as the Statue of Liberty in New York, and offer a sense of peace and comfort to the fishermen working at sea.
Lin Mo-Niang Park is the latest tourist destination in Tainan City and a new landmark at the city’s harbor. It offers different views and atmospheres in various weathers and time of the day.
