Located near the Old Julius Mannich & Co. Merchant House, the Historical Waterscape Park is a new attraction which debuted during Chinese New Year in 2007. There are remains of early waterways nearby, which indicate that this water area used to be connected to Anping Harbor and ancient canals transporting salt. This structure once again proves the inseparable bond between Anping’s history and its water transport background. The most prominent feature of the Historic Waterscape Park is the incorporation of the local water-related historical background into its design. Boardwalks, arc-shaped lounge chairs, curvy artworks fired in kilns inlaid with sparkling glass, windmills spinning in wind etc., all incorporate or represent images of fishing boats and the sea breeze in them. You can sit here, have a chat, and enjoy the famous sunset of Anping.
