Local Charity Donates Goods, Books, and Gives Free Haircuts to Anding’s Disadvantaged Children and Marginalized Households

Hailing from Tainan City’s Yongkang District, ShiFangXin Compassion Charity’s Director Hsu Chao-chou led a group of staff members and volunteers who, from 1:30-3:00pm on March 18, gave a host of supplies to Anding District Office. These items were then given to Anding District’s economically disadvantaged children, kids living in unconventional circumstances, and marginalized households. Every household received a total of 157 daily necessities, including toilet paper, body wash, shampoo, laundry detergent, dish soap, towels, toothpaste, and bar soap. The charity group’s kind act was a tangible expression of care for the community’s more vulnerable families.

In addition to contributing these items, ShiFangXin Compassion Charity expanded the event’s scope by organizing a book donation, which symbolically sowed the seeds of reading and planted love in the hearts of many. Parents accompanied their children to the site so the kids could pick books they liked. The motive of the event was stimulating young minds via books, as they’re essentially goods for the brain. People could also get their hair cut for free; these households’ men and women, young and old looked full of radiance and energy with their new hairstyles. This combination charity effort also concentrated on people maintaining their health; actively detecting more tuberculosis cases actually helps contain the disease so that it doesn’t spread around the community as much. So, Anding District’s Public Health Center organized tuberculosis screening tests where residents got chest X-rays.

Anding District Chief Liu Shih-Hsiung gave a sincere thank you to ShiFangXin for once again providing Anding with important goods. Commodity prices had been fluctuating at that time, and so the cost of daily essentials was going up. Every benefitting household received a great variety of different products that are essential to daily life. This gift, therefore, helped them significantly reduce their expenses. As mentioned above, the charity organization’s plans also included gifting children’s books and free haircuts, thereby proving that the compassion people can have for others in their community truly is limitless.
