Summer Fun on the Stairwell Art Gallery: Sinshih Elementary School Students’ Brushstrokes Decorate Anding District Office

Tainan Municipal Sinshih District Sinshih Elementary School’s art program cultivates the artistic creativity of children and over time they become quite talented. Tainan City’s Anding District Office is giving the third graders in the school’s art program a unique opportunity of displaying their work in the district office’s stairwell art gallery this summer. In short, their 58 paintings and 29 sculptures show how the students possess imaginations without limits. The gallery will be open to the public until August 30.

Anding District Chief Liu Shih-Hsiung expressed that art is more than just a talent, as it also stimulates students’ intelligence in a comprehensive fashion, such as cultivating independent thinking skills, developing their creativity, and helping them form aesthetic standards. No one is ever too young, or too old, to be introduced to art, as children’s creativity can help us see the universe from myriad angles. In fact, inviting the third graders from Sinshih Elementary School’s art program to display their work is an opportunity to share with the public the energy and passion these young students have.

In addition to the 58 paintings, the exhibition also offers art in 3D, as it has 29 pieces of ceramic art and sculptures. We hope that the public can come to the exhibition and see the world through the eyes of a child, thus helping us appreciate new perspectives and aesthetics. The Summer Fun Stairwell Art Gallery event will be open to the public until August 30 (Thursday). We invite all art enthusiasts to visit the gallery, which is open Monday-Friday 8am-noon and 1pm-5pm.
