2017 Warm-hearted Substitute Civilian Servicemen Care for Students in Extracurricular Winter Vacation Event

From January 20-26 (2017), Anding District Office held a winter vacation camp at Anding District’s Senior Cultural and Entertainment Activity Center. Kind-hearted substitute civilian servicemen took care of 15 children that attended this extracurricular camp, which offered courses that focused on a two-part theme: education and social welfare. This event made sure that the 15 young students had an enriching winter vacation.
The camp ran every day from 9am until 4pm, and there were scheduled courses that helped students with their schoolwork. The five substitute civilian servicemen guided the children through their winter vacation homework, and, in addition to this, the classes also featured educational board games and Jenga while the students’ physical coordination was tested during games of T-ball. The district is confident that these courses resulted in the children having an unforgettable winter vacation.
District Chief Liu Shih-Hsiung said that through this camp the district office’s substitute civilian servicemen have contributed a valuable footnote to the annals of social service. In addition to giving the substitute civilian servicemen an opportunity to contribute their special skills and/or expertise, helping the district’s disadvantaged children learn outside of school is a very valuable experience for these young men that are on the verge of entering the workforce.
