Sending Boundless Love before the Chinese New Year: Anding District’s Charity Organization Cares for Disadvantaged Households

Tainan City’s Anding Charity Organization made sure that underprivileged households were able to celebrate the Lunar New Year free from concern. For almost three years now, Mr. Zhou Wen-san, Chairperson of Yijiu Industrial Corporation and member of Anding Charity Organization, has continued to do good deeds by donating money to assist low-income households in Anding District as well as disadvantaged groups in Gangwei Village. Before the Chinese New Year, he gave 2,000NT to each of the district’s 161 low-income households. In addition to this, Anding Village’s very own philanthropist also gave 2,000NT to every one of the 27 low-income and lower-middle income households in the villages of Anding, Anjia, and Baoxi. This monetary gift ensured that these disadvantaged families were able to enjoy a happy atmosphere while they welcomed in the new year.
District Chief Liu Shih-Hsiung expressed that Mr. Zhou Wen-san both regularly offers support and devotes his own time to his charity organization’s many events and activities. He recently participated in the Help Dreams Come True Program, and his financial donation helped ensure that the activity was completed flawlessly. His generous act this Chinese New Year also came at an opportune time—he took money earned by the company he runs and donated it to low-income households in Anding District and underprivileged groups in Gangwei Village. This gesture proves how charity is able to spread the power of compassion in different ways.
During this event, the charity organization teamed up with Weicheng Enterprise, which delivered white rice to low-income households. Through the united effort of the charity organization’s members alongside village chiefs and officers, the monetary donations and white rice were personally delivered to family members living in these disadvantaged households, saving them the inconvenience of running to and fro to pick up the money and rice. This generous act is representative of the spirit of delivering service to the home, making life a bit easier for these residents.
District Chief Liu went on to say that Mr. Zhou has been relentless about donating money to the district’s underprivileged households. Not only did his gift come at the right time, as his hard work also ensured that these households were able to celebrate the Chinese New Year period with what they need. His generosity has inspired private companies to follow his corporation’s lead by investing in kind-hearted charity that cares for the disadvantaged by offering them tangible aid.
Founded in 2014, Anding Charity Organization is about to enter into its fourth year. With financial contributions from Tainan City’s Bureau of Social Affairs and compassionate companies, the charity’s members along with other volunteers have devoted their hearts to doing good deeds, as every renovation project that’s completed plants more seeds of love that spread far and wide.
