(Tainan City’s) Anding District’s Farmers’ Association and Anding District Office worked together in putting on the 2016 Anding District Sesame Industry and Culture Event, which took place on December 3 and featured an atmosphere that was full of excitement. The sesame oil being sold at the event received great praise, and ready-to-eat sesame oil chicken congee was provided to attendees. The air effused with the fragrance of sesame oil, surely luring in crowds of people whom were vying to taste the fresh delicacies on display. In order to stir up the event’s atmosphere, the organizers planned a series of exciting activities as well as situations that involved interacting with the public.
Farmers suffered through a string of typhoons this year, but the bad weather wasn’t able to weaken their hope or confidence in their sesame crops, as they re-tilled and re-leveled the land before planting new seeds. Anding District boasts soil that’s perfect for growing sesame, and as a result the sesame harvested here is low in moisture content and high in fat content.
