On the morning of August 4, (Tainan City) Anding District’s Garden Restaurant held A Life Worthy of Crystal Diamonds and Absolute Bliss: The Loving Father and His 60-Year Marriage, an event that celebrates model fathers. In addition to giving out coffee mugs with family pictures on them, the district office also had the now adult-aged children pour their dads tea and express their gratefulness and love for their old man. The event helped the sons and daughters appreciate how their fathers gave their youth to their family without complaint or regret.
On behalf of the mayor, District Chief Liu Shih-Hsiung presented plaques and gifts to the award-winning fathers and model husbands who’ve been married for decades. Their children came up on stage to give their dads flowers and then they took pictures together. The district office also organized a lavish luncheon, which had a touching and lively atmosphere. Congratulating the fathers and handing them gifts, plaques, and framed calligraphy with congratulatory words were Tainan City councilors Liang Shun-fa, Lin Chih-chan, and Lin Ching-chen as well as representatives from Anding District’s Farmers’ Association. Also in attendance was city councilor Lin Chih-tsung, who congratulated each village’s award-winning father and model husband.
During his speech, District Chief Liu explained that a father holds up the entire house, taking on countless hardships and responsibilities. His warm wings protect his family as he takes care of his children, an act of love that can’t be taken for granted. Liu reminded the sons and daughters to always express their love for their fathers and, no matter how busy they might be, to not neglect making time to be with their family. Liu also said to enjoy the happiness that comes with being part of a loving family. Linking up with Tainan City Government’s Father’s Day activities like it does every year, Anding District Office also selected model fathers. This award for exemplary fathers is an honor that expresses gratitude to the winner for their community service and contributions to their hometowns. Liu finished by wishing all the fathers in the world a happy Father’s Day.
This year’s model fathers from Anding District’s villages are as follows: Sulin’s Yang Fu-cheng, Sucuo’s Chang Fu-wen, Anding’s Wang Ming-chia, Anjia’s Wang Yu-sheng, Baoxi’s Wang Chung-cheng, Gangwei’s Chen Ta-ho, Zhongrong’s Weng Chiang-tsun, Gangkou’s Lin Tsai-wang, Gangnan’s Huang Chun-hou, Datong’s Li Ming-tung, Liujia’s Liang Kun-lung, Zhongsha’s Wang Ching-mao, Xinji’s Liu Chang-cheng, Hailiao’s Fang Wen-i, Guanliao’s Huang Kun-yuan, and Nanan’s Wang Tung-hui. Winning the model husband award was Xinji Village’s Fang Neng-yang, who has been married to his wife Fang Chen-tuan for 64 years. The love they have for one another clearly runs deep. Wang Ching-mao, Zhongsha Village’s model father, accepted the mayor’s congratulations on behalf of Anding District.
