Xilian Village

Features
Silian Village is located on the south side of the Xiaying District street at the west of Jhongying. The area of jurisdiction includes the 2 hamlets of Siliao and Lianbiao.

 1. Siliao: This hamlet makes up the western half of Silian Village. Daitianfu is the hamlet temple, serving as the seat of Chifu Ciansuei (Prince Chi of a thousand years), Wufu Ciansuei (Prince Wu of a thousand years), and Syuantian Shangdi (Emperor of the Mysterious Heavens). The temple was completed in 1996, and houses a wooden wall carving of the 36 Jinshih-ranked scholars. The front side of the Temple is open to the general public where spirit mediums provide their service to supplicants who tend to be women asking for signs of the future.
 2. Lianbiao: This hamlet makes up the eastern half of the village. Residents of neighboring hamlets tend to be related. When travelers were asked where they were going, many of them answered: "Biao-hia-e-chu" (going to my cousin's place). Eventually, Lianbiao became known as the formal name of the hamlet.
Daijingong is the hamlet's temple and serves as the seat of Wufu Ciansuei (Temple of the Five Great Princes). The temple was reputedly built during the reign of Emperor Daoguang. The temple in its current state, however, was built in 1963.
