Anding District Holds 2018 Art Festival Activities in Village Community Activity Centers

Part of Anding District’s 2018 Village Community Activity Center Art Festival program, on August 4 at 7:30 at night, Xinji Village’s Community Activity Center was the site of a performance by Just Jazz Band, a pop-jazz troupe known for its saxophone-laden style. Nearly 300 music enthusiasts and fans of the band attended this unforgettable music event. For the entire night, the band entertained the crowd with a vast array of music styles, including jazz, western hits, classical compositions, pop music, Taiwanese folk songs, and eastern music hits.

During his speech that served as the show’s opening, Anding District Chief Liu Shih-Hsiung mentioned that the purpose of the concert was encouraging city residents to attend events held by their village’s community activity centers as well as further utilizing, or “activating”, these centers. District Chief Liu took advantage of his speaking opportunity to educate the crowd about the importance of different dengue fever prevention tasks. He then called on the villagers to “search, dump out, clean, and scrub” breeding sites as a means of clamping down on dengue fever. Miss Tsai Pei-fen, who works at Anding District Office’s Public Health Center, taught everyone there about reasons to quit smoking and to say no to drugs, and then she led a game where participants were awarded prizes for correct answers, which got the crowd nearly as excited as the jazz show.

The band did some improvisation and interacted with audience, creating a bustling yet intimate atmosphere. With the music reverberating, listeners reminisced about troubles in the past as well as life’s most scintillating moments. The jazz troupe received round after round of applause and cheers of jubilation.
