「舞動燦爛亮麗人生」, the head, Guo Ling-Juan shares “My Dance Life-Walk out of Taiwan and See the World”. Mayor Huang Wei-Zhe praises the head for making Tainan to be seen by the world.
To fulfill the mayor’s administrative idea, “Hopeful Family”, the Labor Affairs Bureau of Tainan City Government not only helps civilians find jobs but also hopes that civilians can pursue a happy life. Since 2019, Labor Affairs Bureau has been holding seminar series on 「職場ㄟ大小事，分享創造共好」, inviting professionals and experts from different fields to share their experience. The Labor Affairs Bureau today (7/9) especially invited the head of YiTzy Folk Dance Theatre, Guo Ling-Juan to share “My Dance Life”. The surprise of the seminar is that the mayor Huang Wei-Zhe showed up at the venue during his busy schedule. The mayor particularly thanked Guo Ling-Juan, the head of YiTzy Folk Dance Theatre, for adding local characteristics in the dancing elements showing the highlight of Tainan. To let Tainan be seen by the world and make Taiwanese proud. The mayor hopes that YiTzy Folk Dance Theatre can keep striving and Tainan will always be the backup of the dance theatre.
The director of the Labor Affairs Bureau, Wang Xin-Ji says, “The idea, “Hope Family”, which is carried out by the mayor is to create a free and nice home. In order to promote the balance between work and life, not only should we have a safe working environment for labor but also should have a healthy and happy life. The Labor Affairs Bureau holds seminar series on 「職場ㄟ大小事，分享創造共好」 every months to become the platform of sharing knowledge with the civilians. Every seminar is well received. This month we especially invite the head of YiTzy Folk Dance Theatre, Guo Ling-Juan to share her experience of her dance life.
「一生懸命、命中注定」The Power of the Life on Stage
Guo Ling-Juan mentioned that she started her dancing life at the age of 4. She encountered obstacles during her learning process, but she managed to come back to her favorite dance field. It is just like destiny, a strong bond that cannot be untied between her and dancing. Guo Ling-Juan says, “Every step you walk in your life is a meaningful nutrition, you will see different kinds of view on a different turn.” In order to wait for the right moment and burst out a glorious life, we should accumulate our strength and pour into the life of power. After graduating from the Chinese Culture University, Department of Dance in 1993, Guo came back to Tainan to cultivate local dancers and contribute what she learned. During a performance overseas, she was being asked, “What is the difference between Taiwanese dance and Chinese dance?”. This question made Guo start to think about what kind of dance is the one that can stand for Taiwanese. To find out Taiwanese dance, she established YiTzy Folk Dance Theatre and became the head of the dance theatre. The mission of the dance theatre is to transmit and promote Taiwanese local culture.
Adding Taiwanese Traditional Culture into Dancing and Transmit to the World
The head recalled memories of joining a lot of temple fairs during her childhood. Using 「跳鼓陣」、「婆姐陣」and 「車鼓陣」movements to create a dance that is belong to Taiwanese. Apart from gaining elements from temple fairs, Taiwanese history, flower industry, ethnic minorities and Taiwanese holidays are also the characteristics of the dance theatre’s creation and performance. Because of its unique Taiwanese cultural style and development of the dance theatre, YiTzy Folk Dance Theatre has been invited to England, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, etc and other 60 cities to perform over the past 25 years. Guo Ling-Juan says with excitement, “My dream is to spread Taiwanese culture to all over the world by dancing.” Only when performing on the foreign stage can we really feel the importance of our own culture. After the performance we enjoyed the pride and honor of foreign guests’ praise, and felt the touch of sharing Taiwanese culture.
The Labor Affairs Bureau design seminar series on 「職場ㄟ大小事，分享創造共好」elaborately, arranging professional courses from different fields. Civilians can use holidays to easily learn and enrich themselves.
